MYlife Movers - Weekly Walk

Let's get moving!!

We all know how good a walk in the fresh air is for us (we will talk a bit more about this further down the page) so let's do just that - together, once a week.

You don't need to be especially fit or able to go far, this is a gentle walk at your own pace.

Book a spot & meet at the corner of the Esplanade/Campbell Street at 10.30 every Thursday.

There are benches and public toilets nearby and if you fancy a coffee or an ice cream then the Cafe is close too!

Please be sure to book a place every time so that you don't end up being the only one to turn up!!

Gentle walks offer many benefits for people of all ages and abilities.

Here are just some of the reasons to lace up your shoes and join us for a stroll:

Physical Health:

Walking is a low-impact exercise that gets your heart rate up and improves circulation. It can also help to strengthen muscles and bones, improve balance and coordination, and reduce the risk of some chronic diseases

Mental Health:

Exercise is a well-known mood booster. Walking can help to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and improve sleep quality. It can also give you a chance to clear your head and improve your focus.

Social Connection:

Walking with a friend or group is a great way to socialise and connect with others. It can help to combat loneliness and provide a sense of belonging.

We will choose routes with smooth surfaces, wide enough for wheelchairs or walkers, and with plenty of benches for rest breaks.

Pace is slow, it's a gentle walk, suitable for people who may walk slower or need breaks.

Any and all abilities encouraged and walkers, cane users, or wheelchair users are all most welcome.
